Name: Baankhapep (Kanefret, actually.)
Honorifics: Ankh (short for "Baankhapep," since Eggman doesn't use her full name around her.)
Age: 17 in life, over a good 4000 years now.
Gender: Female
Status: Single
Height: [Save for later]
Weight: [Save for later]
Body Build: Pretty normal, if not somewhat muscled. Just a little thin around the waist though, since... she actually lacks most internal organs. o.O
Species: Golden Jackal
Eye Color: Green ((Sorry, made a mistake in the avatar. XD))
Skin Color: Black
Hair Color: Blacker Black
Hair Style: Dreaded, short bangs in the front, large rolls of dreads in the back, creating almost a Shirley Temple look.
Markings: A set of hieroglyphs on her right arm. If you know how to spell in Ancient Egyptian, they say, "Baankhapep."
Orientation: Straight
Occupation: Doing things for Eggman/Robotnik, stealing Chaos Emeralds unaware of the repercussions, etc..
Accent?: Yes. Based on what I know of Egyptian pronounciation, her Rs are gutteral, like the French R, and her Hs are gutteral as well, like the Spanish J, or the "ch" in "channuka." Single Is are prounced as "ee," so "him," would be pronounced, "heem."
Relatives
... They're all dead. o.o
Others
Djehuty (Je-hoo-tee): A baby ibis-bird she found, shortly after Eggman/Robotnik awoke her. She cares for him as both her friend, and a child, as he's land-bound, having had an unfortunate accident with the Egg Carrier that left his wings very much useless. The most he can do is flap himself up a little, so she can pick him up.
Eggman/Robotnik: The very man who brought her back to life out of a 4000 year slumber. She believes he's out to help her reach the Afterlife, find the parts of her spirit, and find her real name (the one in parentheses way at the top). Thus, she's basically his go-to girl, albeit a powerful one.
Bio: Though for some reason she cannot remember her own name, she can remember her life very well. She was the daughter of a Lord of one of the counties of Egypt. Because this Lord had no sons, he doted on her in secret, teaching her archery and charioteering. Though... he wasn't able to get a scribe to teach her how to read. It didn't matter much though. And of course, her mother, ignorant to all of this, taught her the basic womanly duties; cooking, cleaning, blah blah blah.
Anyway... one night, she learned that, to up her father's position, he'd met with a Prince, and they'd decided to marry her off. Angry, and upset, it was that same night that she ran away, off into the desert, hoping to get away from the betrothal. Her father and mother didn't realize she had until much later, the next day. But by the time they could call a search, it was too late. Things had already been set in motion. Perhaps, her father might have found her in time, had a sandstorm not blown every track of hers away.
She wandered for a good day and a half, through an endless sea of sand, until she collapsed, at the foot of a temple. Waking up an hour later, she found herself in the kind hands of the temple priests, who's home lay secluded in a lovely little oasis. There she stayed for three days, promising to leave on the fourth.
But it was not meant to be.
On the third night, these priests, once so kind, stole her away to a secret chamber, where... a gruesome ritual was performed. Having been given a potion the day before, she could not awake, as they mummified her alive. As this was going on, other priests stole her soul, her Ka, away, sealing it within four canopic jars, and implanting each with a power. They were preparing her, making her body worthy of avatarship, for their dark god, Apep, opposer of Re, the sun.
Their ritual went unfinished though, as just as the wrappings reached her knees and elbows, the Prince who she'd been destined to be married to, stumbled upon this ritual, in search of her. What he saw terrified he and his men, and they fled... not before raising a bit of hell, and ruining their ceremony.
Their ceremony ruined, they were forced to abandon it, along with the temple, and Kanefret's body sealed within an obsidian sarcophagus, as their opportune time had vanished. Thus, they took the jars, but over time, in the process of waiting, these jars were lost, stolen, bought, traded, and ultimately, scattered across the globe... save for one.
Professor Gerald Robotnik, grandfather of Eggman/Robotnik, had been denied a dig in upper Egypt, and sulking, he came to another area of great interest, along with his granddaughter, a small Maria Robotnik. There, by pure chance, little Maria stumbled upon the first canopic jar. Sadly, funding ran out, and they could dig no more, leaving the area, but certainly not without some remarkable text, deciphered from the jar by Gerald Robotnik.
More years passed, and one day, our nefarious doctor stumbled upon the jar in a backroom, along with his grandfather's accounts. Eager, he set off to this place, described in the journal, and quickly found his way down into the lower chambers of the old temple, into a room of black granite. With a scan of the room, and translating software, he quickly found a set of instructions, and following them, set this first canopic jar on a pedestal. Immediately, there was... rather dark, sinister light, pouring from the hieroglyphs on the wall, and then... there she appeared, shifting with a yawn, standing... and slumping over the side of her sarcophagus, looking... very tired. Eyes rolling, she again passed out, and Eggman/Robotnik took her up, and into the Egg Carrier.
It was then she met with little Djehuty, the rather dim-witted bird, yet no doubt adorable ibis, and the two became good friends. Afterwards, the good doctor explained her situation... in his way, and how he was going to help her get back to the Afterlife. And thus, where she became his lackie, of sorts.
Personality: Quiet, reserved, with a love of children. Never wanted any of her own, but always loved playing with the village children back home. She's got quite a wit to her, and isn't above a little sarcasm herself. Only every once in a while she has an outburst of somesort. She's also... very much naive. Hey, she's from 4000 years in the pas. Whaddya expect?
Residence: Wherever Eggman's base is... wherever she wants to be.
Items
Her earrings: The first is a loop earring, on her left ear. This has the name of her family on it, etched into the golden inside. It's... really, the only hing she has left of her life. The second is a wrap-around the doctor gave her, as a communications terminal, and a translator.
Canopic jars: These jars hold parts of her soul, her Ka. So far, only one's been found, and this one is currently in the possession of the Doctor. Each gives her a power. Except the first. That one just brought her "back to life," as it were, though she has no heartbeat... and no liver... and no... yeah...
Abilities: Partial regeneration when injured (say she gets a cut, it'll heal fairly quickly by itself, but... she's still dead). Superior reflex time (her nerves are dead. The energy given to her by the first canopic jar replaces the electrical impulses from the nerves. Which means... instead of that tiny delay time in which electricity would flow from the nerve to the brain... she knows instanteously). Superior endurance (she dead, remember?). Pretty d**n god hearing (the ears). Near immortality.
Appearance: She looks very much like a black jackal. She would be a golden color, but in death, her fur turned black, and her eyes turned green. She has wrappings from her knuckles to her elbows, and from her toes to about her knees. She also has tight wrappings around the chest, and a simple linen skirt, held with a gold belt. Oh, and goldish sandals, myes.
Oh, and of course, she's got the Egyptian eyeliner-deal going, and a little bit of ochre eyeshadow.
Pastimes: Finding out what her true name is, finding her other canopic jars, doing things for Eggman/Robotnik TO find the other jars, getting to the Afterlife... playing with Djehuty. X3
Phobies: One of her jars breaking, and never seeing her family in the Afterlife.
