Some already know, but this is Lena from KK. ;D
I assume the official characters will be playable so I have to know a few things (not that I'll be taking any of 'em). When exactly does all this take place and how old does it make the characters? For example, would Tails be 8 or 12? I'm not at all familiar with the Sonic timeline so I don't know what my characters would or would not have lived through depending on their age.

This is following a combination of the comics/shows and the games. It's also set 10 years in the future after the current comic storyline. That sets it between the story as it is now, giving us some space to move, but before the 25 Years Later scenario that was written for the comics. That being the case, as an example, Tails is 18 years old now (According to the most official records, he's still 8). As the Sonic Universe doesn't seem to go into much detail about ages of the "older" citizens, we can assume that the Mobians live as long as humans would, with a few animalistic traits. These being like, turtle-based Mobians live longer than mouse-based mobians, since turtles have a long lifespan and mice typically don't. It wouldn't be much of a change, old age maybe being affected by 20 years in either direction at most, but that can be said for humans too. I'll be writing this out a bit later, but the basic idea is that Knothole City was attacked by Eggman and destroyed, and that storyline was followed through on like in the comics, blah blah blah. NICOLE pulls everyone out to the New Mobotropolis eventually, where the comics are now set. In said comics there is also talk about designing a New Knothole to distract Eggman's attention from the main city. Also, it also says that "most residents in Knothole City were captured," which could mean that some were killed and some escaped. The original builders of the Clover Grove, which included Sherry at a much younger age, were all escapees. They took off into the forest and eventually found this clearing, and set up camp. Eventually camp expanded as more refugees were found, kids "sprung up" and their population generally grew. So now, 10 years later, Clover Grove is a rather large community inside this clearing around a big shady tree. It's known even to New Mobotropolis as an incredible hospital and ICU (Intensive Care Unit), where both resistance fighters and regular patients are sent when they're severely injured or otherwise unhealthy. It also has a Recovery Complex where people are kept safely near the hospital and relearn to walk, use robotic limbs, that sort of thing. It also has a fairly strong Military force, but it's much more defensive than offensive. Anti-Air defenses, a protective forcefield dome shield that can be activated under fire, etc. Since it's mainly a hospital, they want to keep the community as safe as possible from attacks by Eggman. These attacks have happened several times (after all, what's more annoying than a resistance group? A resistance group that keeps coming back ), and all but one failed, but I'll get into that in the history area.

Right from the ground! XD Nah. But if you had a character who was supposedly old enough to have kids back when Knothole City was destroyed, she could have had them any time along the way, or even be pregnant now if that only happened recently No children of canon characters of course. We'll just assume they're too busy :3
